Indonesian applications (although now closed) were open to participants between 15-35. Meanwhile, international applications are open to participants between 18-32. We welcome applications from youth across different faculties and especially young practitioners possessing experiences related to urban planning and development.
The Asia-Pacific Urban Youth Assembly (APUFY) is anticipated to be participated by 300 young people with 150 participants from Indonesia and the remainder from across the Asia-Pacific region.
The youth assembly will be hosted at two locations in Jakarta, Indonesia. These are the Ministry of Public & Housing on October 17, located at Jl. Pattimura No. 20, Kebayoran Baru and Shangri-la Hotel on October 18, located at Kota BNI JL. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 1, Jakarta Pusat.
Applications for the Sixth Asia-Pacific Urban Forum (APUF-6) is organized through UNESCAP and for career professionals via their website. Applications close on Friday, 2 October 2015. For more details you can visit http://www.unescap.org/events/apuf6.

You should book your flights only once you have been confirmed to participate in APUFY. We advise selected participants to book flights as soon as possible to obtain the cheapest flights possible and obtain any necessary travel and visa documentation early.
For those 150 selected international participants from the Asia-Pacific region, accommodation will be supported for two nights of the Youth Assembly on October 17 and 18, however, you will need to cover the cost of your own transport and visas to Jakarta.
For those 150 selected Indonesian participants, funding for domestic flights will be supported along with accommodation for two nights on October 17 and 18. For a full list of selected Indonesian participants, please go to http://apufy2015.uya.or.id.
Public buses operated by "Damri" run every half hour to one hour, 24 hours a day, from all airport terminals of Soekarno Hatta (CGK), Jakarta International Airport providing transport to Jakarta for 40,000 IDR. A useful guide can be found HERE. An average taxi to most pasts of Jakarta should cost between 150,000-200,000 IDR.
Meals will be provided for those 300 participants selected during the Youth Assembly between October 17 and 18 only. For participants with special dietary requirements, please make sure to inform organizers in your application or our Help Desk at info@apufy.org.
There are a number options for funding available to you:
  • Contact your national Ministry of Youth or Development;
  • Connect with your local or provincial government where you live;
  • Request support from your current and past employers ;
  • Approach business and industry who may be interested;
  • Contact your faculty or support office at your university or college;
  • Crowdfund locally from family and friends or seek support online; or
  • Search for youth travel grants from benevolent institutions.
Selected participants may request a letter of support confirming their acceptance to APUFY, which may also be used to help obtain visas. For any inquiries, please email info@apufy.org.
Please check this with your Indonesian embassy or consulate, as conditions and required documents are different for each country.
